Tasks
As the successful applicant, you will receive ongoing development to
be able to perform the analysis of aircraft structure using standard
static and fatigue stressing methods and can expect to:
• Carry out static stressing calculations using standard hand and
computer methods.
• Document the results of stress work, typically via technical reports
and Stress Dossiers.
• Liaise with engineering work package suppliers, Design and F&DT;
functions.
• Liaise, on occasions, with the Static Methods and Data groups in
order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures
reflect on-going developments.
• Support on-going local improvement initiatives to increase team
efficiency through methods and process improvements.

• Be a recent graduate, however, candidates with minimal experience
already working as an engineer in industry will also be considered.
• Have knowledge of standard hand and computer structural analysis
methods. This would be an advantage but not essential as full
training and mentored development will be provided.
• Hold awareness of the fundamental methods of analysis for static
stressing and / or fatigue analysis and an understanding of aircraft
production methods and processes.
• Have strong communication and English skills, both verbal and
written.
• Be experienced in PC and MS Office. Knowledge of mainframe
computer systems would be an advantage.
• Be a team player with a high regard for internal and external
customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding
principle.
